Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta (Season 2)

Who's ready for one of television's top-notch trash reality soap operas? I am!

Unfortunately, I more than likely will have to catch the second airing of tonight's episode, but I'm expecting huge ratings for the premiere.

Check out the Supertrailer:

Whose antics are you anxiously awaiting to see? I'm a Joseline Hernandez fan myself.

April Announcement

Hello all!

I am writing this post to say that starting in May, This Day and Aige will be discontinued indefinitely.

The blog will still be up for readers to browse through, but I just won't be posting here any longer. The Facebook page will also be deleted.

People of Color in Classic Film will continue and a new blog (more information on that) will begin.

#10 On My Wish List

Early this year, I wrote out a "Wish List" for the year 2013.

Number Ten was:

"I want Diana Ross and Mary Wilson to get it together and reunite."

Number ten out of 10 has come true...

Is this real? Were the smiles just for the cameras? Did Diana  and Mary work through difficulties long before this reunion (for "Motown: The Musical"--now on Broadway)?

I don't know what's going on, but I must say that this picture is lovely and certainly did fill my heart with joy. I hope to see more like them.

RIP to Roger Ebert & Annette Funicello

This past Thursday, we were all saddened by the passing of the great film critic Mr. Roger Ebert.

His family, friends, and fans said their final "See You Later" today at his funeral service in Chicago.

My heart goes out to Mr. Ebert's loved ones in their time of mourning. Movies in general simply will not be the same without him--and as Oprah Winfrey said, his passing has marked the "End of an Era".

Rest in Eternal Peace and Comfort, Mr. Ebert.

Today, I am terribly sad to hear about the death of entertainer Annette Funicello.

Mrs. Funicello's passing is particularly hurtful for me because after watching a recently aired segment on her health, I'd gained this sudden spark of hope and optimism that a cure for her disease would be found and her condition would improve greatly.

However, Mrs. Funicello has fought a long and hard fight and she deserves some rest. My heart goes out to her family and her friends.

Here is Annette singing "I'll Never Change Him" in Beach Blanket Bingo (1965):

Artist Update: Antonio Long

This past summer I made a post on Up and Coming artist Antonio Long.

Antonio has a new song called "Just Pray (J Dilla Mix)" and I'd really like for you to listen to it:

As a commentator on Antonio's SoundCloud stated, this song is very clean--great quality, beautiful sound, encouraging lyrics. As soon as I hit "play", I immediately thought/felt "radio".

Please share "Just Pray" with on your social networking pages and blogs!

Throwback Thursday: Takin' a Trip to Nellyville

Who remembers this 2002 album?

Back before he was channeling his inner-Tim McGraw, Nelly was crankin' out hits for the Hip Hop/Rap charts. In June of 2002, Nelly released his second album titled Nellyville.

Nellyville gave us hits like "Pimp Juice", "#1", "Air Force Ones", "Dilemma", and of course--"Hot in Herre".

As a kid, I think I may have sang the hook to "#1" more than I did "Hot in Herre". I'd also mastered the "oh's" on "Dilemma".
